Arno Acoustics joins forces with CPW

Arno Acoustics has officially joined forces with CPW as of October 1st 2025 – with the company now operating under CPW Acoustics, marking an exciting new chapter for its teams, clients, and growing Acoustic Consultancy Service.

Led by Adam Mottershead, an industry specialist with nearly 20 years of experience spanning commercial, education and performance spaces, Arno Acoustics brings a wealth of capability, particularly within the arts and music sectors. This integration follows several months of collaboration between CPW and Arno, with both sides recognising the benefits of coming together to build something stronger.

The merge was formalised on October 1st this year, following around three months of discussions. However, the relationship between CPW and Arno Acoustics began long before that.

“We were already collaborating on several schemes and quickly realised how complementary our expertise was,” explains Jon Willmott, Director of Acoustics at CPW. “Bringing our teams together felt like a natural next step for both sides.”

This decision was driven by a clear alignment in values, technical approach, and ambition. Both organisations share a commitment to technical excellence, client-first delivery, and creating environments that perform flawlessly – whether for teaching, living, working, or performing.

With Adam joining the leadership of the Acoustics Team at CPW, the company can expand on its specialist expertise within the arts and performance sector, broadening technical capability across complex acoustic environments, and adding further depth to a team that has impressively grown from a single member to six within the past four and a half years.

Looking Ahead – The Future of CPW Acoustics

Following the addition of Arno Acoustics, CPW is well-positioned for continued growth within the acoustic consultancy sector. This merge also strengthens CPW’s multidisciplinary capabilities, with Acoustics amongst an array of specialist services such as Lighting Design, Vertical Transport, Power, SMART systems, and Building Physics – complementing our core MEP and Sustainability Consultancy offerings.

“This is a great step forward for CPW Acoustics and Adam’s knowledge and expertise will complement the current acoustic team and wider business. I’ve worked with Adam on many projects and have always been impressed with his technical approach and client focus. One thing that was clear to me – that Adam’s core values aligned with ours, with focus on technical expertise, sustainable design and delivery to clients.  I’m very much looking forward to bolstering CPW’s expertise in the Arts sector, and I look forward to working with Adam on future projects,” Jon explains.

Our acoustics team is currently working on several exciting schemes such as, Mell square, Balgores SEN School, Hamilton SEN School, Stratford Mills and Clinical Skills for the University of Birmingham. Together with Adam, the company looks forward to building on its momentum and shaping the future direction of CPW Acoustics.
