CPW gives back with second charity day of the year

This year CPW has dedicated two working days to charity. We closed our offices, empowering our amazing staff to make a positive impact in their local communities and support causes close to their hearts. To sweeten the deal, our Directors agreed to match the funds raised during these days.

On 29 September, our teams set out for their second charity day of the year raising a whopping £3,783 for a variety of causes and selflessly dedicated over 714 hours to volunteering. It was amazing to see our staff embrace this opportunity so wholeheartedly, benefitting a wide array of organisations.

Our team were involved in a range of activities including:

  • litter picking in city centres and along the canals

  • ground maintenance and gardening for a care home, a hospital, a wildlife trust and a wildlife hospital

  • Macmillan coffee mornings

  • leaflet dropping for charities

  • kitchen support for a homeless charity

  • donating and volunteering at food banks and animal shelters

  • sponsored 10K ‘Walk for Humanity’ for British Red Cross

John Hauton, Director and charity lead at CPW, said: “Seeing the dedication from all our teams around the country for both of this year's charity days has been exceptional. Our aim when giving two working days to charitable work was to really ensure we were going to be able to make a difference to local communities. We’ve definitely done this and both days were an incredible success thanks to the efforts of our fantastic staff.

“With such varied activities and charities being fundraised for, our teams have been able to select causes that they have a passion for. In turn, this has bought our teams closer together.

“We took a risk logistically when we decided to close our offices for two working days but after the first one, we knew we had made the right decision. The success of the second charity day has just reaffirmed our decision. Committing consistent time and effort to charity causes will now be a fixture in the calendar that is here to stay, helping us build relationships in the local communities.”

Over the two charity days this year, 1,367 hours of volunteering were carried out, with a total raised of £7,548 for a wide variety charities. Well done team!
