Continuing our commitment to carbon reduction with Planet Mark
We’re proud to announce that CPW has achieved the Planet Mark Business Certification for a sixth consecutive year, marking the continuation of measuring and reducing our UK business carbon emissions. Since 2019, we've been working with Planet Mark to track our carbon footprint and make meaningful progress toward our net zero goals.
Our Director of Sustainability, Dr Stephen Ball, shares:
“Achieving Planet Mark certification for the sixth-year running is a milestone worth celebrating. We’ve come a long way since 2019, with our carbon footprint now around 30% lower than when we started, it’s a testament to the commitment and effort of our entire team.”
In 2024, our certified carbon footprint (Scope 1, 2, and key Scope 3 emissions) remained steady at around 379 tCO₂e. While maintaining reductions year-on-year is becoming more challenging as our business grows naturally, we’re continuing to make targeted improvements. From energy-efficient buildings and greener energy procurement, to encouraging low-carbon travel and switching to electric vehicles.
CPW is committed to becoming a net zero carbon business by 2035. To get there, we aim for an average 5% reduction in emissions each year and encourage everyone within the business to play a part, whether that’s through smart travel choices, maximising virtual meetings, or making more energy-conscious decisions.
The Planet Mark Business Certification is a recognised symbol of our continued progress and commitment. It covers our Scope 1 and 2 emissions, along with key Scope 3 areas such as waste and business travel, helping us stay accountable and future ready.
We’re also proud to support the UN Sustainable Development Goals as part of our wider sustainability journey.
