CPW Awarded BIM Certification

CPW are delighted to have achieved UKAS Accredited (ISO 19650-2:2018) Information Management Certification for Businesses using BIM from BRE.

Rob MacDonald, BIM Manager at CPW, said: “Building Information Modelling (BIM) is critical for productivity, cost saving and better collaboration in construction projects. We felt gaining certification was a great way to validate our capabilities and give our clients confidence in our BIM abilities.”

“We have implemented a BIM steering group to ensure each team has their needs heard, as well as identifying champions within our engineers who receive additional training and become the first port-of-call for all BIM queries.

“For our clients, BIM is a way to save money, save time and reduce issues. A problem within the BIM model may be resolved within an hour in an office, but that same problem on site can cost days.

“We couldn’t have achieved this certification without the brilliant support from staff with regards to implementation and assessment. We also appreciate the support we have received from colleagues at Graitec throughout this process. While the assessment process was a real success, there are always lessons to be learnt and ways to improve so we will continue to look for efficiencies in our own processes to improve our productivity.”

Ben Curtis, BIM Certification Scheme Manager, from BRE, explains: “CPW have provided clear evidence of their hard work and dedication to align their business and deliver work in compliance with ISO 19650-2:2018 with considerable success. Congratulations to Rob and the CPW teams on this fantastic achievement in completing the certification process, which clearly demonstrates their capabilities in Information Management using BIM."
