Acoustic Consultant

We have an exciting opportunity for an Acoustic Consultant to join us at CPW, to support the evolution of the Acoustics Team. The successful candidate will be part of next phase of the company’s growth, joining a forward thinking, dynamic Acoustic Team whose core values are centered on staff, clients and quality.

The Acoustic Team comprises a tightly knit, hard-working group of consultants with a knowledge base spanning all areas of acoustics, noise & vibration. The key sectors we work in are Healthcare, Education and Residential. We therefore work on many large-scale prestigious developments and because of this, having an interest in architectural / building acoustics is essential.

Key Responsibilities

You will deliver project work from inception to completion for small to medium sized projects and proactively liaise with other parts of the business and external clients. You would be expected to work independently with support from more senior members of the Acoustic Team.

Your Experience & Qualifications

Applicants should have at least two years’ experience in acoustic consulting and require experience in the following;

  • Architectural building acoustics in schools, healthcare and residential developments.

  • Noise surveys and on-site testing in buildings

  • Report writing, preparing calculations and processing noise survey data

  • Acoustic modelling with modern software packages

  • The planning process and preparation of reports for Applications and to address Conditions 

  • Guidance documents such as BS 8233, BS4142, PropPG, HTM 08-01, BB93, AVO guidance, amongst others

The applicant should be AMIOA / MIOA and appropriately qualified holding an acoustics or science-based degree. Other formal qualifications such as the The Institute of Acoustics Diploma would be acceptable.
