Description:
New 4 storey central student services facility (Phase 1B) which is part of a £70m redevelopment of the Luton Campus. CPW have assisted in the design of a sustainable low energy building that is mainly naturally ventilated, sensitive to the local townscape and targeting BREEAM Very Good.
Features:
- Developed on an existing brown field site situated between two existing university buildings
- The University have aspirations to make this building the focal point of the campus and with energy efficiency measures such as combined heat and power, photo voltaics and innovative E-Stack, fan assisted natural stack ventilation
- Heavy thermal mass and natural ventilation combine to limit mechanical ventilation and to maintain comfortable space, with practically zero cooling being installed
- BREEAM Very Good
